McClaren is ready to take risks for two titles next season. McLaren chief executive Zac Brown revealed the team`s approach as it prepares for 2025.
According to Brown, the Formula 1 champions are determined to retain the constructors` championship prediction by portugal rankings and lead the individual championship, for which they will act decisively.
We`re heading into next year at full speed. Perhaps we have a different mindset now in terms of the confidence and courage that the team is ready to show in developing the car for next year.
The team doesn`t say: Let`s just change a few little things here and there, the car is pretty good. We have some things for the next car that can be called bold risks.
In my opinion, the only way to get ahead is by trying to beat everyone, and not by thinking at the beginning of the season like this: Let`s just catch up with the level of our opponents. Now there is a different mindset: Let`s defeat everyone.
We must beat our opponents in car development, in aerobatics, in strategy, and not just focus on not making mistakes. This is not enough.
Commercially the team is incredibly strong and we have two excellent riders. This is a huge power. But damn, we have good opponents. Mercedes is very close, Ferrari and Red Bull too, right?
Just when you think your competitors are starting to have problems, they come out with something powerful. So there are four teams next year, and any one of them could win both titles.
I believe that we will be much better prepared, because before this season we could never have imagined where we would end up. You could even say we were not prepared psychologically. We can`t talk about complete unpreparedness, we just didn`t have the same attitude that we have now.
We go into next year knowing how damn hard the fight will be, but with the desire to win the Drivers` and Constructors` championships.
Before this season we thought: Let`s get into the top 3 and see if we can give Lando [Norris] his first win. We have moved away from this. Now we have two riders capable of fighting for the title, we will support both, " concluded Brown.
